Everland

Korea's "Everland" made the list of the 10 most popular theme parks around the world.

According to the ERA/TEA Attendance Report 2006 published in April 2007, Walt Disney theme parks in the U.S, Japan and France took the top eight spots, while Everland ranked 10th and another Korean theme park, Lotte World, was 15th.

Everland had attendance of 7.5 million last year while Lotte park recorded 5.5 million.
Florida's Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World came first (16.64 million), followed by California'sDisneyland (14.73 million), Tokyo Disneyland (12.29 million), Tokyo Disney Sea (12.1 million) and Disneyland Paris (10.6 million). Besides Everland and No. 9 Universal Studios in Osaka, Japan, (8.5 million), all the top 10 were Disney-affiliated venues.

Among the top 10 most visited Asian Pacific Rim Amusement/Theme Parks, Everland came in fourth, following Tokyo Disney land, Tokyo Disney Sea and Universal Studios Japan. Lotte World took fifth place in this category.

Everland also ranked in the top for amusement park chains, including its water theme park
Caribbean Bay. The combined figure showed 8.9 million visitors.

"This is a notable feat given that Walt Disney has 13 theme parks and Six Flags has 30 themes parks around the world. Everland has gotten into the top 10 with only two venues," an Everland official said.
